Dafins is a small village in Vorarlberg, the far western province of Austria, close to the Lake of Constance. Here you are as central as you can be in Europe but still out in the almost untouched nature. Dafins is not a tourist place at all. It is an original alpine village, high up, almost 3000 feet above sea level. You’ll find yourself among the friendly locals in a small paradise. In fall and winter it is very spectacular to sit in the sun under a bright blue sky and see the dense fog down in the valley.

Some famous skiing areas of Austria and Switzerland are close by. You’ll reach the Arlberg with Lech, Zürs and St. Anton, where kings and queens spend their winter holidays within less than one hour, also Montafon, Arosa, Davos, Savognin, Lenzerheide and Flims/Laax. Just outside your residence there is a hiking and biking trail leading up to the Alpwegkopf (4800 ft), where you find an original “Gasthaus” offering Speck and Beer. In wintertime this trail is being snow plowed and can be used as toboggan slide. If you like to hike even higher up, you stay on this trail an you’ll get on safe and scenic walks to the “Hoher Freschen” (6500 ft), from where you have a terrific view into the Austrian, Geman and Swiss Alps .

Discover mountain meadows with unique flowers and plants, walk along wild mountain rivers, bike for hours in deep green forests or just enjoy the snow in wintertime.
And if you feel like a bit of action, meaning shopping, culture or sightseeing, within half an hour you have the choice of cities in four countries to go to. St. Gallen in Switzerland, Vaduz in the principality of Liechtenstein, Bregenz in Austria or Lindau in Germany. For larger tours keep in mind, you can reach cities in six European countries within no more than three hours of driving. One hour: Zurich: Two hours: Munich, Innsbruck, Luzern, Stuttgart, Bale . Three hours: Strassburg, Salzburg, Heidelberg, Milano
